Health Checklist for Your Wellbeing

Staying healthy is our obligation and that’s why we need to take all the steps we can to improve our health. Therefore, doing regular annual checkups and analysis, eating healthily, taking supplements, such as dietary, gut, and brain supplements, and similar, is something we all have to do in order to ensure we are healthy. But, apart from taking care of our physical health, we should also take care of our mental health. In order to support your wellbeing, here is a checklist of all the things you should do.

Eat Healthy Food

It might seem like a cliché but the food is probably the most important factor that helps us be healthy. It’s because healthy food provides us with all the nutrients we need to be healthy. So, forget the highly-processed food and focus on eating natural or low-processed food. Here are several tips on how to eat healthily.

  • Focus on fruits and vegetables
  • Choose whole grains instead of refined
  • Eat meats like poultry and fish
  • Eat healthy proteins, such as eggs, dairy products, and beans
  • Avoid foods that are rich in saturated and trans fats
  • Reduce your sugar and salt intake
  • Don’t consume/avoid sugary drinks and desserts

Create Healthy Eating Habits

Apart from focusing on healthy food, you have to be careful about how you eat. It’s because some people tend to overeat meat or other healthy product, thinking they are healthy. However, when you over-do something it’s not healthy but too much. So, be careful with how much you eat and try to eat small portions of each meal. Also, make sure you have 3 main meals and 2 snacks per day.

Stay Hydrated

Water is the healthiest drink you can enjoy without limits. Not only it’s healthy but it’s also essential for our health because it’s part of us. As you probably know, our body is made of 2/3 water, so you need it in order for your body to function properly. According to doctors and nutritionists’ suggestions, you should drink 3 liters of water per day to replenish the amount you lose through urine and sweat.

Take Supplements

Sometimes we need to take supplements in order to improve or maintain our health. It usually happens when there’s some nutrient deficiency in the body, a certain health condition, or when we are older. So, in order to put your body into balance by replenishing the nutrients that are deficient and support your health, you need to take a certain type of supplements (e.g. supplements for gut health, for the brain, and dietary supplements). In that way, you will help your body function properly and support its work.

Take Supplements

Maintain a Healthy Weight

Your weight is another factor which your health depends on. It’s because people who are overweight or obese have a higher risk of developing serious health conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and similar. In order to maintain a healthy weight, you need to be careful about what you eat. Also, you have to drink plenty of water and exercise in order to improve your physical condition and lose weight

Exercise

Being fit is of great importance to your health. It’s because it supports your heart health, improves your focus, increases your energy levels, improves your sleep, tones your muscles, and more. But to exercise doesn’t mean you should force yourself by going to the gym every day or do high-intensity workouts for 2 hours each day. You can stay fit just by doing a simple physical activity such as a 30-minute walk, a 10-minute jog, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, or doing cardio for 5 to 10 minutes. The most important thing is to be consistent in your exercise

Practice Yoga and Meditation

Apart from your physical health, you should also take care of your mental health. The best way to do that is to practice yoga and/or meditate. It’s because both of these activities support your body’s self-healing powers and help your mind relax.

Sleep 8 Hours

Another way to support your overall health is by getting enough sleep. That means you should sleep 8 hours per day, referring to the night sleep. It’s because, during sleep, your body revives and heals itself and your brain takes a rest so that you wake up relaxed, rested, and ready for the things the new day brings.

Apart from the things mentioned above, make sure you do regular health checkups and annual wellness tests, maintain your personal hygiene on a high level, and avoid or quit bad habits, such as smoking and drinking too much alcohol. Also, you should do the things you like and spend time with the people you love. All of these things together ensure you stay positive, happy, and healthy.
